Dear reader,
Just started working with KDENLIVE (original release 0.9.6) and I am pleasantly surprised by its stability, speed and features. In 4 hours, I did today more work then using CinelerraCV for years. The later is not really maintained anymore and although it has lots of very nice features, the crashes where the reason I sometimes stopped using Cinelerra for many months. Still, I noticed that the git repository does not list v0.9.6 by itself (git branch -a), thus I am not aware that any updates made after April this year are incorporated. Also, the master branch show version 0.9.9 but seems to be based on the 0.9.4 version. The master branch does not allow new projects to be created or settings to be altered etc, which is acceptable in itself, but how can any testing be done? One remark I shall mention is that the monitor windows - which I detached from the main window (multiple monitors) - are sometimes disappearing to return after 2-4 seconds again. Maybe the project is being updated or the like, but it is distracting nevertheless. Anyhow, I see that this project is alive and hope to use it for a long time to come - I finally can make some production. Regards, Frans. |

From what I can tell, the v0.9.6 tag has been published. Please see http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdenlive.git
