Just installed kdenlive 0.9.6 on a MacOSX.8.6 machine with MacPorts.


The only change I've made from the default MacPorts install was to uninstall gavl which was preventing kdenlive from starting up and was documented as only having the frei0r plugins as a dependency here: http://mac-os-forge.2317878.n4.nabble.c ... 20900.html


When I launch kdenlive, the icon bounces in the dock, disappears, drkonqi attempts to start, fails and disappears.

When I run kdenlive in gdb, the main window opens up, but no menus appear at the top, in gdb I see:

ok, so I think the WaveformGenerator::calculateWaveform function is part of setting up the Waveform window. Which I had open in past sessions. Perhaps a simple way to fix this would be to set some config file back the defaults which does not include the Waveform window?

KDE applications, such as Kdenlive usually store their configuration files at ~/.kde4/share/config/, at least on Linux systems. Does that location exist on your system?

I'm using KDEnLive on a Mac. I used MacPorts to do the installation. The ~/.kde folder doesn't exist on my system. Not surprising. There are many kde folders on my machine. It'll take a while to look through them all. Anyone have a pointer in the right direction?

i just upgraded my mac's os to mountain lion (os x 10.8.5), installed kdenlive using macports, and i am experiencing the same problem. i successfully ran the commands on the kdenlive mac installation page (http://kdenlive.org/download-mac). this is the message to check if dbus (one with --system and one with --session), kdeinit4, and klauncher are running:

Not sure if many people here can help with Macports version of Kdenlive. Maybe you could get lucky.
