I installed kdenlive from the respective ubuntu repository for the upcoming ubuntu 14.04 trusty daily build. In the effect list, the "alpha operations" effect, which I use often, is missing (and it seems that so are several others too). I looked in the kde4>applications>kdenlive>effects folder, where I saw that the respective xml-file for "alphaops" was present, yet it doesn't show on the kdenlive user interface. What can I do?

I have this problem also. I use the SOP/Sat frei0r filter but it no longer works
There is a long list of filters in /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdenlive/blacklisted_effects.txt including fei0r.sopsat and frei0r.alpha0ps. Is there any intention of getting these filters to work? |

They are most probably blacklisted for a reason. Remember that the nightlies are alpha at this time, not even near beta. If you need these effects, stay with 0.9.8 and wait for Kdenlive development to stabilize on the new Movit architecture.

Hi,
Now that ubuntu 14.04 is release it should work no ? I think my problem is like the same... I try to get those plugins work : frei0r.saturat0r frei0r.tint0r frei0r.contrast0r frei0r.curves frei0r.brightness Basic plugin on fact !!! I've got frei0r-plugins installed (1.1.22git20091109-1.4). Apparantly the couple files composing each plugin are present (/usr/lib/frei0r-1/brightness.so | /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdenlive/effects/frei0r_brightness.xml, [...]) Is it only on my ubuntu or is it for everybody ?? Thanks |

joda - your situation is not normal. But nor is it unique. this thread has another person with limited effects on their system.
With ver 0.9.8 just out you really don't need to run daily build version to get a pretty up-to-date version. Daily builds are really for testing bleededge stuff. So I would go for a packaged install http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Installation |
