Today's build of 'movit' does not show up in the Update Manager.
Synaptic shows I have libmovit1 1.0.3-xxxx installed and a new libmovit2 1.1+..... not installed. If I try to remove libmovit1 it will also remove kdenlive with mlt etc. etc Trying to install libmovit2 will also remove kdenlive, mlt and libmovit1 12.04LTS |

Hey!! Forget the above, I've got it working!.
Removed everything and reinstalled but with libmovit2. Movit is very, very, very cool. Nice work guys. |

So movit is apparently a free library for GPU-based video effects (http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entr ... processing). And sunabs current repository has MLT compiled with movit as a dependancy.
So I guess this is cool. But norm - how would I notice how cool it is? What practical differences should I see if I install kdenlive/mlt/movit libraries? |

Well it was not cool for me.
Upraded with sunabs repository. Start kdenlive. Movit failed intialization. Exiting. No kdenlive |

Oh,sorry about that. Can you check in synaptic to see if your libmovit is installed. For some unknown reason in my last update I had to install it manually.
EDIT:- Just wanted to add that I find it best to get the latest builds from here:- http://builds.meltytech.com/kdenlive/latest.rss Just unpack it in a folder somewhere and run it from there. It doesn't affect your system install. Yours is the third one down I think. |

I got the same error from the daily builds and from the build script.
I restored my root partition from an image to undo this disaster. I think I will wait this one out. |
