I just have installed kdenlive, first with the Ubuntu 13.10 repository, and then removed it and installed it with ppa again. However, it did not solve the issue I am having.

In the documents, videos, I see a space saving way to have Project Tree, Effect List, Effect Stack, Transition in one Window Resources. I cannot figure out how to do that. What ever I try it gives me a new Window and smallers my screen.

I am going to add a second monitor. Is it possible to split the windows over two monitors?

Click on the diamond shaped button next to the close button on the effects pane.
