FFmpeg-2.5.3 (built with kdenlive recommended settings)
kdenlive-0.9.10

Kdenlive built without any warnings, but on the first run, the config wizard has red flagged "avformat module (ffmpeg)".

Is kdenlive compatible with recent ffmpegs, or have I missed something? It seems to have found everything else.

Found the issue! Although I built kdenlive from source, I installed many of the dependencies from the slacky repository. Mlt had been built against an earlier version of ffmpeg. Rebuilding mlt from source solved the problem.
