Try this.
I made this from the existing "build script" from Dan Denedy. But Dans script was not updated for KF5 / kdenlive 15.nn versions. This one is. |

Wow! Thanks!
I have the deps installing now, barring liboil0.3-dev which apt complains there's no installation candidate for (although it's referred to by another package). I'll see how things go after that... |

Same here. I cannot get Kdenlive installed on Xubuntu 15.10. Not by any of Sunabs great ppa's, not with this build script. Too bad really. Any version of Kdenlive would be fine. I am using 09.8.10 on the desktop with Ubuntu 15.04. |

Wierd. I am running kubuntu 15.04 and liboil0.3-dev (version 0.3.17-2ubuntu4) is installed from Ubuntu universe. Do guys have the universe section enabled in your package manager ?

If you are running *buntu 15.10, kdenlive is at 15.08.1, directly from the official repos. 15.08.3 should be available soon, I think. liboil0.3 is no longer available in Ubuntu 15.10. Since kdenlive builds in Wily, it is not needed , I guess.

OK. Thank you ttguy! That makes some sense. I will get the Kubuntu 15.10 ISO and get it running in Virtualbox to see what happens. Now that we are struggling a bit to get the latest versions of Kdenlive running, I would like to thank the entire team behind Kdenlive for creating such a wonderful program. Reporting problems is one thing, saying "thank you" is the very least we users can do too. regards, Just Vecht |

Kdenlive runs just fine in Kubuntu. It needs a bit of KDE stuff to work well, I guess. Kubuntu is sluggish on my i3 / 4GB Ram box though. Some of the puzzle is solved now Now see how to keep the speed of XFCE while adding the KDE stuff Kdenlive needs. |
