Hello,

I am trying to install KDenLive on a Powerbook G4. I know that there is a PPC version as I have seen mention of it on the site before.

My issue is that when I try to install KDenLive to my machine I get this error at the end:

"Error: Cannot install virtuoso for the arch(s) 'ppc' because
Error: its dependency virtuoso-7 only supports the arch(s) 'x86_64'.
Error: Unable to execute port: architecture mismatch"

What is "virtuoso" / how do I get it?

I get the differences in architecture, I've done my homework, and I have seen others use kdenlive in PPC so I know it is possible.

Any help would be cool.

Thanks in advance

Hello,
Virtuoso is the database used by Nepomuk, the KDE4 search/metadata engine (abandoned in KF5).
Nepomuk is not a hard dependency of Kdenlive, just a suggestion on systems that have KDE4 installed.
I don't know how MacPorts work, but you should try to remove that triggering of Nepomuk building (or ask the maintainer to remove that dependence), as for Kdenlive it brings really few features.

Vincent

What did the mac port maintainers say about Vpinions suggestions jkendall ?

The kdenlive developers do not actually support the mac version. So bumping this thread when Vpinion has already suggested a path forward is not really going to get you very far.
