I've just upgraded my system to Xubuntu 15.10, which comes with kdenlive 15.08.1
It works so far, but there are no icons. I asked google about that, tried to install kdebase-runtime (message: already installed) and kde-workspace-data (message: replaced by powerdevil powerdevil:i386 kde-base-artwork) but the icons are still missing.

Any suggestions?

Tried installing oxygen-icon-theme? And choosing icons in Systemsettings->Application Appearance->Icons ?

Recently another problem appeared. I could formerly use kdenlive without its icons, but now the program freezes every time when I want to edit a video-Clip.
Message: ""Clip kann nicht aktualisiert werden (Zeit: 0, Spur: 3)"
i.e. "it was not possible to refresh (update?) the clip"

I tried it with the same clips which I edited with kdenlive last week - so I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with them.

Maybe you should try and get version 15.08.3

I tried, but I couldn't manage it. It seems, that no kdenlive ppa exists which supports Wily.
Maybe I still don't know enough about Linux ...

no, I didn't, because I thought that the message tells me that powerdevil is allready installed and replaces kde-workspace-data.

But now I solved my problem with this hint:

Just an info to whoever is subscribed to this bug: this problem does not occur on the kdenlive version of ppa:vpinon/kdenlive-testing - and it also has not crashed yet as I have tested, whilst the official ubuntu wily version crashes almost every time I am doing or selecting a title clip

Cool. In the last 24hrs Sunab has put up a build of kdenlive against Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf - 15.11.80+git20151202.0918054c-0ubuntu0~sunab~wily1

And you have heard good reports on it.

That is great. I was going to ask you if you installed a vivid version on wily because when I looked last night the ppa did not have the wily build. But sunab has come to save the day. Yay.

Now I tried the sunab-Archiv. There are Icons and the video-edting-part seems to work. But the DVD-wizard freezes. The same does the version from the ppa mentioned below.

Now that is really cool! That makes me almost to switch back from self-compiled to use an existing ppa. I'm only unclear whether Olivier compiles Kdenlive from main or the most-recent Application/xxxx branch?
