Thanks vpinon. I just tried the kdenlive-master PPA, and 15.13.0 was installed when I did a sudo aptitude dist-upgrade. I will try with that version for a while before trying out the 16.01. The strange thing is that 15.13.0 is not part of that ppa.. this is what Kdenlive is showing when you pick Help -> about kdenlive -> version

Originally I did not want the latest version, because I prefer stability over new functionality. I would be happy to hear from anyone who is able to install 15.12.1 on Ubuntu.

Tried out 16.x for a couple of minutes and decided to downgrade.. too buggy. Back with 15.12.0

My problem is that I am unable to install 15.12.1.

I tried your updated PPA, but it still states:
sudo aptitude install kdenlive=4:15.12.1+14-0ubuntu1~vpinon~wily1

And then I tried to install the deb-package manually without luck:

Which ubuntu version are you running?
latest builds are on wily (15.10) so depend on the libs versions it provides (Qt 5.5 & others)
maybe you should run "apt update && apt dist-upgrade" ?

Yes, I am running Kubuntu 15.10 Wily. It seems it does not ship with the required Qt 5.5. I have no problem running 15.12.0, but it all breaks with 15.12.1?

The reason why I went with 15.10 is to get the latest version of Kdenlive.

I am just wondering, is anyone successfully running kdenlive 15.12.1 i Ubuntu (Kubuntu 15.10)? I have not seen a single reported installation. They think they have it, but they are really running 15.12.0 or some other strange version 15.13.0 or 16.01...

Having same problem. Tried countless PPA's and cannot find 15.12.1 . Need stable version for kubuntu 15.1 in order to give class next week. Anyone know where to get most stable version for kubuntu 15.1 or which is best version to use?

I am OK with 15.12.0. Save often and you need to restart the application from time to time, because the time line get's scrambled up (clips don't know where they start or end..).

15.12.1 is a mystery.

It made me look closer at the problem, and actually I had a copy paste error in my aliases and uploaded for a while everything into Xenial instead of Wily.
Just fixed the upload, builds are running, and hopefully you will get in a few minutes the 15.12.1+14 = 15.12.2 (just missing the official KDE Apps tag), and latest MLT.
