final link failed: Bad value

Mon Apr 17, 2017 6:25 pm
I'm trying to get kdenlive to compile on Gentoo. I ran into this problem and got stuck there:

Code: Select all
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.9.4/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: .libs/xine.o: relocation R_X86_64_PC32 against protected symbol `_x_flags' can not be used when making a shared object
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.9.4/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: final link failed: Bad value
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [Makefile:715: libxine.la] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/xine-lib-1.2.6-r2/work/xine-lib-1.2.6/src/xine-engine'
make[1]: *** [Makefile:615: all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/xine-lib-1.2.6-r2/work/xine-lib-1.2.6/src'
make: *** [Makefile:692: all-recursive] Error 1

This happens on xine-lib, which is in the dependency list for kdenlive's ebuild. How can I get past it?
