Hello,
that's my first post here - perhaps you're able to help me... kdenlive 17.08.2 libmlt 6.4.1-13.2 openSUSE 42.2 I've been using OpenSuse Linux since 2000, and used Kdenlive for editing some small digitized old Super8 movies. Now my son got a GoPro and data increased tremendously Very fast I found the Proxy Clip option and created a new profile with following settings (taken from http://thediveo.blogspot.de/2013/10/eff ... n-27k.html): -f mpegts -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ab 128k -ar 48000 -vcodec mpeg2video -g 5 -deinterlace -s 1080x720 -vb 4000k Whenever I add clip to the project, I get the message, that the Proxy Clip can't be generated (I've a German locale, so it says: "Proxy Clip kann nicht erstellt werden"). When using the same ffmpeg options on the command line, extended with -i <input.mp4> and the output filename, ffmpeg converts the file correctly. The clip's metadata from ffmpeg: Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuvj420p(pc, bt709), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 45382 kb/s, 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 60k tbn, 119.88 tbc (default) Duration about 20 sec, ~112MB I tried the pre-installed proxy settings, but both of them failed, too. I searched a lot, but it seems this seems to be a rare problem. Creating proxy clips should be rather easy... Any hint? Thanks and regards, Chris

Hello,
no idea? N hint for further debugging? When starting from command line I see the following:
The XCB errors occur while starting kdenlive and moving the cursor into the poject-bin. The swscaler warning appears when importing a clip. I haven't found any usefull to these messages... Meanwhile I tried some other video editing software, but I'd really like to keep on using kdenlive. Regards |

Hello,
problem solved, my fault. Just for the docu: In Settings > Configure Kdenlive > Environment I defined the ffmpeg path with "/usr/bin" only, not the complete "/usr/bin/ffmpeg". Having done this, and checked the same for melt, proxy clip creation works fine. Regards, Chris |
