Hi guys, I am quite new with Kdenlive, so please excuse in case I pose some stupid questions ;) I hope you can give me some useful advice before I start a project and possibly find out at a much later stage, that the one or the other funtion is not working, crashing or whatsoever...

Following the donwload link https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive/+archive/ubuntu/kdenlive-stable I read "Unfortunately, the QML parts are not reliable with Qt versions below 5.11, so bionic is out of scope (18.04 LTS, basis for several derivatives)."

Indeed I am running ubuntu 18.04. LTS, what are actually the QML parts that wont work? Are these minor things?

I would appreciate some comments...

The qml is for parts (or all) of the user interface.

The appimage or flatpak is better in this situation as those are self-contained and have all the dependencies that cannot be provided in Ubuntu 18.04's repos.

Thanks a lot claydoh, I understand you right, if I install via appimage or flatpack I have 100% functionality of Kdenlive 19.04? That would be cool!
