I installed 19.12.1 yesterday but to my shock my old projects had disappeared when I deleted the old version. Is there any way I can recover them and how? I am pretty new to Ubuntu.

How do you have deleted Kdenlive on Ubuntu? Do you use the PPA file or the AppImage? Where do you have stored your project file? You should store your Kdenlive project file allways in a different folder the the program files.
