Hi,

I had been running KdenLive 17.12.3 under Lubuntu 16.04. I upgraded my OS to Lubuntu 18.04. I was looking forward to trying the new version of KdenLive.

Unfortunately, my respositories only show the old version 1712.3.

Oh well, I thought. I'll just install the kdenlive repository, so I did the following on the comnmand line:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable
sudo apt-get update

It tells me all about the new version (working on it for three years, etc.) and looks like something is happening. But when I start up KdenLive again it's just the old version.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

That PPA does not have any Kdenlive version for 18.04, just some libraries. it looks like there have been some build failures for Bionic that they have not been able to fix. You'll want to try the appimage from kdenlive's website for the latest version, or using snap or flatpak for it.
