I have this issue too. I'm using webp and mkv clips from youtube that have been cut with losslesscut.
[Parsed_scale_vaapi_2 @ 0x560dc94e1640] Failed to create processing pipeline config: 12 (the requested VAProfile is not supported). [Parsed_scale_vaapi_2 @ 0x560dc94e1640] Failed to configure output pad on Parsed_scale_vaapi_2 Error reinitializing filters! Failed to inject frame into filter network: Input/output error Error while processing the decoded data for stream #0:0 I tried converting a clip to mp4 using ffmpeg, loading that into the project and trying to create a proxy clip. Same error. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 lts and Kdenlive 20.08.2 and ffmpeg version 4.2.4-1ubuntu0.1. Thanks |

I've had this problem too.
Changing the 'Encoding Profile' in the project's proxy settings worked. I changed it from 'Automatic' to 'x264' and have tried others too. |

I'm having a similar error; "Failed to create proxy clip" with a default install of Kdenlive.
Here's the message itself:
It happens any time I attempt to generate proxies on a new or existing project. Source media is standard long-GoP H.264 (in this case, meeting recordings from Zoom's backend.) I'm able to edit it just fine without proxy encoding, it's just a bit jerky and laggy. ----- Kdenlive: - Version 21.12.0 - All optional dependencies were selected when installed via Pamac. Host: - OS: Manjaro KDE v.latest - CPU: i7 6c/12t 8th-gen (Quicksync) - GPU: ...integrated - RAM: 32 GB DDR4 - Block: SSD for OS and scratch, HDD for home. |

Likely, your machine is not compatible with the VA-API library and it can't create the processing pipeline config. You can try a few things:
Make sure you have the latest VA-API driver installed for your GPU Try disabling VA-API in Kdenlive's settings and see if that resolves the issue Try using another video encoding library such as x264 instead of VA-API If you're running Kdenlive inside a virtual machine, try enabling GPU passthrough to make sure Kdenlive can access the host machine's GPU. You can also try implementing the best isp proxies to try to solve this issue and make your connection safer. |
