Installed Kdenlive 21.08.1 and 21.08.2 from https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive/+archiv ... ive-stable

in
Settings \ Configure KDenlive \ Playback \
enabling "Use GPU processing (Movit)" close kdenlive.
Now kdenlive not start.
When starting is displayed splash screen and automatically close the software.
Need delete kdenlive config files.

That bug is recent.
Another detail is in .xsession-errors logs is displayed the lines below when trying start kdenlive with enabled gpu processing movit.

The appimage has hardware acceleration ?

only has current version. Kdenlive previous versions are removed.
How download a previous work version ?

For the PPA, I don't know how to preserve old versions.
Dev team almost never uses Movit, as it was unreliable and nobody maintains it, but we could have a look to understand what fails at startup...

enabling "Use GPU processing (Movit)" is only related with accelerate video effects in playback or accelerate video effects allowing new effects to be added in project ?

hmmm .... "Use GPU processing (Movit)" really is related with video playback in video without any added effect or only for enable GPU acceleration for effects in playback ?

Tested 21.08.3 the issue continue
