Hi,

I am very new to KdenLive. I've just download the installer and run it.
Now the software is open, but the only thing I can see is a window with two black windows inside..
there is no menu and no interface.
By clicking on the top left corner I am able to see menus, but the rest of the interface is still "blank"..
any ideas where I can start digging ?
Thanks in advance for your help

this is related to video drivers.. on your laptop there is a nvidia quadro VGA (and an intel VGA) if i remember well you are not able to start apps using a preferred card on this machine.. and probably kdenlive is starting using the Intel one.

this is the issue: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/issues/277

if you can't find an Intel driver that works for Kdenlive maybe can be necessary to switch back to Windows 8 (deafult OS for the machine) and use the drivers from Microsoft update. ( or Windows 10?)

if you are able to start kdenlive using the quadro... maybe this can be related also to drivers (or old adapters) : https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenl ... ssues/1153 (in this case you can try to manually edit the kdenliverc file: set 15 as opengl-backed value. )

Hi,

thank you for your reply.
I will read it more carefully,
but in the meantime I've started to try different things and I've managed to access to the menus even if the rest of the window is blank (or in this case black).
It's strange it's like a "dark mode" but a bit too dark :)

So, back to the menu, I had the good idea to change:
Settings ---> OpenGL backend ---> DirectX (ANGLE)
to
Settings ---> OpenGL backend ---> Auto
and now I can see the full screen, I mean every details of the window.
I've tried the other "OpenGL Backend" options and they ALL work, except "DirectX (ANGLE)" for my configuration.

Is there a link with the answer provided by @Bartoloni ? or there is no link ?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice
Regards

i was asking for a default openGl backend from a while... because usually the issues was the opposite one, btw good to know.
(BTW can i ask if you have a right mouse button option to launch Kdenlive using a different VGA adapter?)

Hi,

thank you again for your reply.

yes I have the choice for graphical choice like you show
https://imgur.com/Zhm96k9

I would like to check with you that the main screen/window I have is the correct one (if something is missing or not)
https://imgur.com/ylnKJcN

I have done some other testss.. Because of what I've "discovered" in the menu (about DirectX), I had the idea to search on Google
about it. So, I've downloaded from Microsoft's website the DirectX's driver of kind of and installed it.. and now..
I can select every options on the menu I have the full screen appearing I mean with all the details not like before when I had the feeling of having
a "Dark mode" not working.

So, I suppose, if you agree, that we can consider this case as closed, but I will wait for your final answer.

Thanks a lot for your help
Regards
