I have been using for a couple of years and have never encountered this problem:
Kdenlive fires up normal. When chosing a recent project or opening a project I get confronted with with remark about a picture that would have been replaced recently and that it will be loaded again. I cannot change anything but only hit OK. Going onwards Kdenlive crashes.
This is not related to one project but to all my projects I am working on

There has'nt been any replacement of which part of the project whatever.

Does anyone recognize this behaviout or knows a solution?

My gear and software:
Hardware HP z640 64GB ram Quadro K2200 and 2 ssd 1 HDD
Software: Opensuse Tumbleweed KDE Plasma with Kdenlive installed from the repo
Kdenlive 22.04.1 and higher causes the problem. When working with 21.12.x everything works fine

well.. better to "complete" the project using old version of Kdenlive.. i understand that this is probably a BUG.. but maybe the bug is from the old version, and now is fixed ( but the project is still damaged/wrongly created )

BUT you can try to to ask to developers to identify the issue (you have to provide the .project file) opening an issue: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/issues
providing the crash log... the project.. and all the infos you have.

Unfortunately it is not that simple to go back to 21.12 in a rolling edition of Linux

I searched the forums of opensuse and found this:

it is already a known issue so it appears.
It will be repaired in an upstream update in a while

Opensuse upgraded MLT to 7.8 and that was the solution for me.

Kdenlive 22.04.2 works just fine again

and Kdenlive was able to start.. but crashing ONLY loading a project?

Yes, kdenlive did start but loading the project and it's clips made it crash.

I have same issue for about year now, I'm stuck with version 20.12.3 ,
I'm using Arch Linux with latest updates, but no single version of Kdenlive runs without crashing while loading the clip into the story board .
