Extra Mile Bugs - spacing

Sun Mar 17, 2013 1:53 am
Hello,
I found some spacing issues and I would like to fill them as Extra Mile Bugs. However, before doing so I thought I might ask here first. I you think they classify as EMBs.

Here we go:
These are all zoomed screenshot from the System Settings - Style page:
- Misplacement: (example Configure button)
ImageAs you can see the "g" of configure touches the bottom, this mean the text is one pixel below of the center. This applies also to the example button "Button". However the text in the "Combobox" button is centered correctly, there is one pixel space (from the the heighest char to the top, and from the lowest char to the bottom).

Apply button: these kind of buttons are a little larger in height (2 pixels distance to top/bottom).
ImageHowever, as you can see the "Apply" is also one pixel below of the center. There is only pixel distance below, but three to the top.

Maybe I found also some other issues, but lets first see how it goes with this.

If you are unsure if a bug should be reported as a extra mile bug, I suggest asking on the kde-testing@kde.org mailing list.
Otherwise, I would recommend filing a bug report on bugs.kde.org (against oxygen) and tagging it as mentioned in the wiki page.

Unfortunately the developer section of the forum does not get as much attention as the main support section of the forum.
In many instances, KDE Developers still prefer mailing lists, especially for development related topics.

So, you mean I should rather post there?

Yeah, I can understand that. However, looking at gmane.comp.kde.testing there isn't sooo much traffice either (but probably other ppl/devs still).

I am referring in this instance to most development conversations taking place on KDE.org mailing lists, or IRC.
In this instance, these are developer questions and are therefore most likely to be answered on those mediums.

The kde-testing group is relatively new, which likely explains the low level of traffic (as most of the people involved already contribute in such a manner).
