I would like to begin in QA, after the Kubuntu 11.04 disaster. I'm looking for a place to ask for used or refurbished system to be donated to a beta testing QA bench. However, I'm not sure of the proper avenue.

If you wish to perform beta testing and not risk your production environment I would suggest using VirtualBox

I'm looking into it, and other ide environments, to migrate (in time) from beta testing to development. The other concern (re:Beta testing) is testing on legacy equipment, like the intel 865G. The current issue with ubuntu's unity (re: Launchpad Bugs
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/727594
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/774999
)
is also affecting kubuntu (ubuntu's kde environment). This isn't the first time an initial kde release was faulty on legacy equipment. This tells me that kde needs better legacy testing.

Currently, in my production environment, I was able to get kde desktop (of the kubuntu variety) working on a netbook - at the same level as on larger systems.

This leaves me wondering if there is a way to add a forum for those who want used equipment, and those willing or wanting to donate it. It can be sold as a "Green" thing.
