Hey guys,
Sorry but I'm not even sure what the name of this effect is, so I'm not sure what to search for on Google. Tried a few searches but nothing coming up. I have taken several videos and I'm looking to add smaller playing videos overlayed on top of another video. I tried the crop and position effect but it has the smaller video and black above it. It also looked very blurred, and was wondering is there a better way to achieve this? Links or even the proper name of this effect would be handy. Thanks, SJKReid |

The effect you're looking for is Pan and Zoom. (http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Effects/Crop_and_transform/Pan_and_Zoom)
Put the video you want to inset in the highest of two tracks, and the background video below it. Apply Add Effect>Crop and Transform>Pan and Zoom to the top track, and adjust the effect's Size and Position (X and Y) parameters so that the video is the right size, in the right spot. Then apply Add Transition>Composite to the top track, and make sure this transition stretches over the same length as the track you want to inset.

There is alternative solution exists - use Affine transition on the clip. Affine transition allows quickly scale, move and rotate the clip data.
