I'm trying to put black text on top of a video clip. I've created a title clip (black text on transparant background) and placed it under the section of video clip I want. Put in an 'addition' transition, but it does not work. Somehow, it views black as a transparant colour as well. Is there any way to let kdenlive take the black as black and not transparant?

you must put your title clip in a track above your video clip. A composite transition should be automatically added in between to make the title transparent. If you still have problems, make sure you use the latest kdenlive version.
