Hi,

I've tried several times to get a fade in from black in a video, but I always gave up, because it simply doesn't work? But in this video it just has to work, because it must look good. The fade out to black works flawless by the way.

What I do is this: I drag and drop the 'fade in from black' effect toward the video, then there is some sort of 'effect' seen on the time line, but not in the video. Check out a screenshot here: http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/7663/screenshotugt.png

I also can't configure the length of the fade...

Can someone please give me a step by step guide to get this done? Because I've Google'd for two hours now, I can't find anything related to this.

If you can help me, thanks a million!!!

Which kdenlive version are you using? There was a bug in the fade effect that was fixed in Kdenlive 0.7.5

I've now upgraded to 0.7.5

The fade in from black works now, but well, 0.7.5 is a complete disaster. The fade in works, but the programs crashes everytime before I can finish my video :')

I guess I'll have to look for another video editor

Er, I'd strongly recommend:

FadeIn(movie,500)

(it really is that easy with Avisynth) :-)
