Newly arrived to Kdenlive and this forum.
Assembled my first Video from a JVC GZ-MG330 camcorder - no problem.
If I drag along the time-line - project Monitor works OK and colours are correct
If I press play on the Project Monitor - video plays but with what appears to be the complementary colour scheme (sky is orange, red soil is blue, yellow title is pale blue)
If I render the video - this complementary colour scheme appears in the rendered image as well.
I apologise if this has appeared before and been commented upon - I'm a newbie.

wow, that is strange. never heard that of that problem before. Did you apply some effect? Can you just add a short clip to the timeline by itself, render, and reproduce the same problem? If so, then please file a bug and attach your short clip.

I think the first problem is why the Project Monitor is doing this complementary colour thing - as this appears to lead through into the rendering.
I have created 2 short video screengrabs which show the problem but they are in ogv format which are prohibited formats for attachments - so I can't attach them.
So I have attached 2 Screen snapshots of the problem.
The first: "Timeline.png" shows the Project Monitor output when the timeline is dragged along the frame - the colours are as expected
The second: BlueMask.png shows the Project Monitor output when the "play" button is pressed on the Project Monitor screen and shows the complementary colour to the Project Monitor output.
Although the PNG images are part of a long series of clips, the effect is the same for single clips which the ogv files would have showed.
Any further thoughts - do I still file a bug report?ImageImage

Just a few more questions:

What kind of processor and distro are you using, and what versions of Kdenlive / MLT?
Before opening a bug report, please upgrade to latest Kdenlive (0.7.6) and MLT (0.4.6)
Can you also try to play your clip in a terminal:

melt myclip.mpg

and

melt myclip.mpg -consumer sdl_preview

and let us know if you also experience the problem in those 2 cases.

@micronet There is an old bug in Gnome and/or Xorg. I used to have this kind of problem when using Totem. At the time, there was a misunderstanding between Gnome teams and X team and the internal numbering of colours was sometimes incorrect.

Try upgrading your system. Also, try another display driver in kdenlive settings. Does it fix the problem?

I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66GHz with Mandriva 2009.1
Kdenlive 0.7.3 (no current Mandriva rpm for 0.7.6)
Mlt 0.3.6 + various libraries
KDE 4.2.4

If you think the problem lies with old versions of Kdenlive and Mlt - then will build new versions but don't want to do this unless necessary.

In Terminal tried melt MOV059.MOD (this is how my video clips are labelled from the camcorder and they work OK in the timeline
But melt didn't work - gave - "command not found"

So where do you suggest I go from here?
And thanks for your help - I do appreciate it
