Any ideas how to do this?

- composite and -
[Foreground video]
- composite over -
[Background video]

That doesn't work. It seems composite and only works on the alpha channels, yet I want an effect that works on the RGB channels (multiply components).

So you see below I have 2 layers- a green background, a stripy rainbow foreground and a black mask with white and grey text.

Which makes the rainbow text on a green background.

I'm not sure this can be done...

I turned track 0 into a layer mask using monochrome video effect.

When i turn it on it destroys the blue screen effect on layer 2... I'm not sure if this is at all achievable

I'm also interested in how to filter a specific RGB-color, for example green. I couldn't find an option which let me choose a green-alphachannel for the composite-effect :(

One of the major problems is that at the moment Kdenlive is unable to overlay multiple transitions on different tracks.

So you can't for instance composite a title over a clip that has a transition. So multiple compositions isn't achievable yet.

I wasn't able to achieve this yet, but will take a look on it again this weekend; although my hopes are not too high.

try using the chroma. Set the color for whatever your mask is and it should work.

anyway by chroma you mean blue screen? see op... that doesn't work.

Looks like this will be possible with the new transition "region", which let's you select a file as a mask. However there are some bad bugs in it which need to be fixed first.
