Wipe: Direction inversion

Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:20 pm

Hi,

The linear_x and linear_y wipes can only wipe into one direction. "Reverse direction" doesn't do what you guess - it just reverses the fade direction, not the wipe direction.

I've then flipped the linear_x and _y pgms to create wipes for the other spatial direction - this works. I suggest to add these pgms to the distribution, too, since it depends on the situation if you want a left-to-right wipe or a right-to-left wipe (I used a wipe to cut traffic I filmed - it all rolled from left to right, so the right-to-left wipe was inapropriate).

You're right, in order to reverse the wipe direction you need a flipped luma file.

I just want to remind everybody here that independent of what luma files are being distributed with the package itself (stored in /usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/kdenlive/pgm/PAL and NTSC), you can always create your custom lumas and store them in your home directory: ~/.kde/share/apps/kdenlive/pgm/PAL (or NTSC). Kdenlive will scan for luma files in both directories.

Further, you may be interested in the luma files other kdenlive users have created, see http://www.kde-files.org/index.php?xcontentmode=683. You can also upload you custom lumas there and thus make them available to the public :) .

cheers
