I am digitising a large amount of footage, (on a mac uncompressed 8bit .mov's aja kona high end cards, outputing h264's for web use) is there any way that i can do automatic scene detection on the my h264 mov's that i generate

Yes, scene detection based on cues from the recording (not image analysis) already exists for DV and HDV capture.

Is there any way to do scene detection AFTER capture, a la Pinnacle Studio? I don't really want my videos split into a lot of files on disk, I just want my editor to know where the scenes are, without me having to tell it.
