Image-Clip - fit to width

Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:52 pm
Helo!
Whether is it possible fit an image-clip to width?
I have a little larger png-image:

$ identify Nr3.png
Nr3.png PNG 2304x9173 2304x9173+0+0 DirectClass 8-bit 6.55917mb 1.360u 0:02

and make credits from them mit Composite-Transition (from top to bottom.)
It looks like Kdenlive fit the image to height (please, correct if I'm wrong.)
In another thread I have discussed, that it is not possible, the image more than 500% to resize. The manual adjustment is difficult because of proportionality. I have tried the image in the midst to split, but in background I have an audio-file and it is difficult to synchronize.
I use Kdenlive 0.7.8 and Ubuntu 9.10.
I need help!
With regards, Gennadiy

Add the Crop effect and check the Center option in the Crop effect's options.

Helo!
I cannt combine a Composite-Transition and a Crop-Effect. It may be to
have a "fit-to-wide" Option in Composite-Transition oneself. Currently I
adjust the Width and Height in Composite-Transition manually
(proportional) rather into the Image to zoom.
Thank You for reply.

I can combine crop using the center option with a composite transition with no problem. I might have fixed this in a newer version of MLT.

Please, can You to exemplify, how do You this do.
I add at first a crop Video Effect; then I tick the Automatic center-crop. An Image will be cropped in the midst and the Composition Transition fetch no effect.
As I wrote I have Ubuntu 9.10.

There was a misunderstanding on my part. Crop with centering does work in conjunction with composite as I said. However, I overlooked your use case to scroll title. Using crop does not help to create scrolling credits; remove it. You must use only Composite. In the Support page of this site, under Video tutorials link, there is a tutorial on creating a panoramic image. You want to do something similar except scrolling vertical instead of horizontal.

Helo!
You have a point, I do scrolling titles with Composition-Effect according this tutorial.
But I have a question (or proposition.)
I have a few png-Images (2304x6000, 2304x8000, etc.) in my project. Also, I scrolling from top to bottom on each Image. I must for every Image set corresponding percentes. Would we have a "button" ;) to fit an Image to width (in Composite), I could put this work aside. In addition one can do this much precise.
I hope, yet I have explaine more nicely.
Cheers!
