date- and timecode

Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:33 am
Hi,
is it possible to inlay the date- or timecode into the videostream?
That is similar to old camcorders where the date- or timecode was visible
for a few seconds in the right or left corner.
Thanks!

Which video stream? And what kind of timecode? For the ones not living long enough yet for knowing all this old stuff ;)

Related to this one? http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=643

The output of the camcorder is an avchd-file. Only during playback by the camcorder itself, the datecode could be seen as an informational text. Prior to the playback by a hardware media player i want to inlay the datecode ("01.08.09" ...) for every new recording. So the whole familiy can watch my video at tv and knows all the time when the recording took place. This is very nice when you record your children an see them growing up for months an know exactly when they painted i.e your floor.

Yes, I think that

would solve my problem.
