Titles?

Does Kdenlive do titling? I can't seem to find any tool to do it. If it doesn't how should I get it done?

It does do titles if you click on "project - add title clip". It can also accept svg files from Inkscape if you'd like a little more artistic control.

Hi

I'm also new, I've been using Kdenlive for about 2 days

To insert Titles I click on "Project" (next to "File" in the top-left corner), then "Add Title Clip"

Now you will have the "Title Clip" box

Using the mouse, click anywhere on the white and grey boxes area

The simply type anything

Normally you would get a very small text - on the top-left corner of the "Title Clip" box, you will see the second-down tab having "Font"

Next to that (on the right side of it) you will see the size of the font you just types - a number

Click on what appears to be the drop-down menu, and you will notice that the number changes - either larger or smaller value

After you are satisfied with the text size

Look on the right side of the "Title Clip" box

You will notice that there arrows pointing towards each other (under "Rotate Z")

Click on the icon that shows two arrows pointing towards each others, on a vertical axis (that places your text in the middle of the "Title Clip" box, on a vertical axis)

Then click on the icon that shows two arrows pointing at each others, but on the horizontal axis (that places your text in the middle of the "Title Clip" box, on a horizontal axis)

That would mean that you're ready to produce the Title Clip to import it in Kdenlive - maximize the "Title Clip" box, then press click on "OK"

You will notice that "OK" will try to escape from you (that's what it does to me anyway). Just double click on "OK" and hopefully your text will show in the "Project Tree" on the Kdenlive program ("Project Tree" would be on the middle-left of the Kdenlive box)

Your text will show "Title"

I learnt that from this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CisdeIixwlw

Note: I made my tile transparent, but in the YouTube video, the guy shows that he made that black rectangular black box surround his text

I hope that what I wrote is easy to understand and sorry for the too long reply Lol
