What you guys think about effect of camera display, something like this:

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/images/stories/2008/october-2008/sigma-dp1-camera-screen-shot-1.jpg
http://community.avid.com/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Components.PostAttachments/00.00.18.49.80/HFX-In-Camera-effect.JPG

image on the top of video with all usual stuffs about the video and camera - battery level, ISO, number of video, timeline, and also the red REC indicator!

of course it can be add as a composite and png image, but would it be good as a effect in software?

Your ideas?

Our APIs do not give us access to the data you are looking to include.

OK, then you should just use an image with composite. Doing a special filter just for this is silly and to answer your question "would it be good as a effect in software?" Yes, as long as the image is large as the video and of the same aspect.
