wipe speed

Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:08 pm
Im working on a video that will have a video segment retain its height but gradually widen to fill the screen. Im trying to use the wipe option. However, Im looking for a way to speed it up so that it widens up in about 5 seconds or so. Right now it takes forever to widen up to full screen width.

Thanks in advance for any help,

OK I see what you are doing - I think, but I don't understand your problem.
To do this I have just done the following:-
Put the start clip of the video on track one.
Make a 5 second colour clip in black and drag it onto track two.
Use the mouse to create a transition between track one and two where the two clips overlap. That fixes the time for the transition to 5 seconds.
Click on the transition to highlight it and select "wipe" in the "type" dropdown.
Select "bi-linear_x.pgm" in the image dropdown and add some softness if you want.
That then starts with a black screen and then the video opens out from the centre in 5 seconds or whatever length you make the transition.
Is that what you wanted?
I think you asked this on IRC yesterday, but you didn't wait around long enough for a reply :-(
