News about the backward-effect?

Sun May 09, 2010 7:50 am
Hi all
I have seen this question appearing sometimes, but not very recently.
I am using
Kdenlive Version 0.7.7.1
with KDE Development Platform 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
(In Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx)
and I didn't find any check-box for backward-playing in the "speed"-effect, although it is mentioned to be there in the English and also in the German Wiki on kdenlive:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Kdenlive/Video_effects#Speed

* Does there a version exist, where this backward-effect is existent?
* If so, is it perhaps possible to just import the effect instead of compiling a newer version? I have seen that there is an directory "custom" among the effects, which suggests that it is possible to add ones own effects?

I would appreciate any tips. I am really missing this effect. I know at least one other program where I can do it externally, but as it seems to be almost implemented, it would be great to have it inside kdenlive.
By the way: After my last upgrade it's the first time that I have found kdenlive to be stable (so far no crash) and I am really enjoying this program now!

Playing backwards is not yet working.
I think MLT, the framework kdenlive is based on, supports it but not kdenlive yet.
