Kdenlive version 0.7.7.1
OS - Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Processor - Athlon 4000+ Mem - 4Gb Installed from synaptic I have a similar problem to this: http://www.kdenlive.org/forum/transitions-not-appearing-project-monitor-and-not-rendering, but I CAN see most of the transitions appear fine in the Project Monitor, but when I render the files, the transition has not been applied. I have only managed to get a few to work so far: Slide, addition, burn, dodge... However I have tried Dissolve, Blend, Overlay, Wipe and a few others, and although they look fine in the Project Monitor when I play the project, the transition between the 2 clips is 'dry' and occurs after the 'top' clip stops when the video is rendered (render selected zone). I am trying to transition between video tracks 1 and 2, with some overlay between the 2 tracks, so I think I am applying the transition correctly. I also could not get any Wipe transitions to work (although, again they previewed nicely)... however I was able to get a Composite transition to render. I was using MLT 0.5.5, but I downgraded back to 0.5.4 (the one on the repo) to check if this might have anything to do with it. The problem remains the same. Is there something that I can check to see what might be causing this? [Edit: I have noticed that as I change the transitions, the rendering takes differing amounts of time, as if the transition is somehow being actually processed, but on playing back the files, it is still a 'dry' transition. I have tried with several players (e.g. melt and ffplay), and several different encoding formats, as well as saving to differently named fies... all with the same result). |

What render profiles do you use?
Although your description of how you applied the transitions sounds sane could you also please provide a screenshot? |

When you do your render tests, are you changing the resolution (explicitly or indirectly) from the project profile? If so, please test render to MPEG-4 with no resolution change.

Thanks ddennedy, I wasn't changing the resolution, and I tried several different render profiles, but nothing worked.
I have tried this again with a fresh install of Ubuntu on my work laptop, and dissolve (for example) is now rendering correctly. I will try this again later on back on my desktop at home, see what results I get. |

i am having a very similar problem using the composite transition in conjunction with a wipe file, previews fine but does not render, except in my case in noticed that it does render the very first frame, it is the subsequent frames where it stops working.

I had the same problem if i use a transition on the same video clip (cut them in two parts and connect them with a transition). It is only rendered in the project monitor.

Hmm, interesting... I can confirm that I was in fact attempting to transition between 2 parts of the same clip (on different tracks, but part of the same source footage file).
I will give it a go with "force interlaced" and see whether that helps. Cheers |
