Multiple track composite fails to render

I have three video tracks that I am trying to make visible through composite layers. All three can be seen in the playback window, but when rendering, track two is not visible. I tried specifying corresponding tracks, as well as leaving it to auto, no difference. Here's a screen grab of the track layout. It feels like I'm missing a step somewhere.

So, it looks like this is a known problem getting fixed in 0.7.8.

It could be a bug or it could be pilot error. It would help if you can attach a sample kdenlive project that shows your problem.

It could quite easily be pilot error :) I've attached the project file.

I was looking at the list of bugs fixed in 0.7.8 and this one looks like it might fit:

I might of missed it if it was fixed, but to my knowledge it isn't possible to do multi-track compositing. For me it always simply failed.

You say it works for you in the project monitor, but not when rendering ? I'll have to check this out...

I have always been able to do multi-track compositing. As evidence, see this video I made in June, 2009. In the lower thirds titles, the motion background is a video on a track between the primary video and the title on top.

I know there are pitfalls, but it will take me a while to discover and document them because I just tried again, and I could not make it fail without doing something obvious like choosing a silly track with which to composite. I even rendered to make sure rendering worked. Maybe there have been some changes to improve this, but I am not sure. I would not be surprised if some edits on the videos or tracks involved may foul something.

A new project in 0.7.8 works great, all three layers render.
