trim left side of video

Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:50 pm
My video has a black bar running down the left side. I've tried pan and zoom scaleotilt and crop. Pan and zoom looks like the effect I would want but when I adjust the box to fit the section of the clip I want to keep then render the black bar remains. I don't understand what crop is doing. when I try to move the number up for the "left" it makes the video disappear. Same happens with other positions. scale0tilt, adjusting the "clip left" until I see the left side of the film start to move in then rendering does not remove the bar. How do I go about removing it? Im using version 0.7.8

Thanks

In order to get the bar removed I had to use both pan and zoom and scale0bit. I adjusted the "x" box down to a negative number until the bar had moved to the right side. Then I used the scale0bit and adjusted the "x scale" up a few numbers until the picture covered the black bar going down the right side. I'm always open for better ideas but this did what I needed.

Crop should have been the effect to use, but it is broken in v0.7.8.
