Hi all
Does anybody know how (if possible) to disable clip in the track to have chance to use another one instead without a need of deleting the first one? Many thanks |

That's not possible I think. At the moment at least.
So what you would want to do is replacing a clip in the timeline by a different one? Trimmed to the same length, same effects applied, etc.? |

Hi Granjow, thank you for your answer.
Well yes, my intention is to try another clip in the 2nd track but keep the first clip in the 1st track with all effects applied but disabled. When I decide, well, that first one is still better, I will just enable the first one and delete the second one which I don't need. All disabled clips in the timeline would be simply ignored when playing or rendering. Do you guys see this as useful feature for the Kdenlive? |

If I understood you correctly, you can achieve what you want with tracks. Tracks can be disabled (either audio, video or both) by clicking in the small audio / video icon just below the track name, see screenshot below.
It seems to me a better way because being able to disable individual clips would create a mess in timeline I think... |

yes, I know about the tracks and I've been also thinking about creating a mess as you have pointed out. That means to use more tracks to become more flexible and that should do the job for me. OK, case closed. Cheers.

Disabling a clip has its uses.
It's not a terribly common thing to do, but it must not cause timeline mess either. In Premiere you can right click individual clips on the timeline and Disable them (basically the same as lowering its opacity to 0%). The clip gets marked as "disabled" by covering it with a diagonal-line pattern in the timeline, so you can easily spot disabled clips and avoid confusion. Here's what a disabled clip looks like in Premiere Pro: |
