Noob on Forum Need Help

Tue Oct 19, 2010 7:56 pm
Hi. I am new on this forum. I have a problem with my Kdenlive. I am FreeBSD user 8.1 release and I installed Kdenlive from ports. I use Nvidia 8800 GTX (on gentoo I could see Full HD videos) with AGP (GLX on BSD) enabled & fluxbox. Vlc can play Full HD. Mplayer too. But Kdenlive the same video cannot even preview it. Is going too slow. Video and sound. I tried to change options from transision (Xvideo) but nothing changed. Any idea?

Did your port build mlt with ffmpeg-devel? I had this same problem on Mac OS X when I first installed it. The things I did to get playback to work better/properly was make it so your render projects at 30 fps or less, make it so you can view the color correction scopes and right click on them and have auto-render unchecked. Also if you go to your Preferences and make it so thumbnails aren't generate in the timeline that will make playback smoother. Depending on how you want/need to edit your projects you may want to leave that feature on however. It makes editing more precise.

I want to create my new skate movie. So I guess that I must edit it too much for effects etc. I tried ffmpeg-devel and all possible options on Kdenlive. Nothing is not working :/
