A section of my current project will have a still image using the full screen, while a stream of smaller pictures, large enough to make out, scroll horizontally across the bottom layer. Which effects should I use for this effect? The scrolling images would have a short gap between them. I'm pretty sure the slide transition will not do what I want.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly...
but maybe this will help... maybe...

even you can have video layer not only still image / picture.

Thanks for the example ariadrianto. This is close to what I'm looking for. But instead of one picture scrolling across a background image or video, at a time, I want them to stream across. For example, Picture 1 enters from out of frame on the right and travels right to left out of frame. But shortly after the full image of Picture 1 is in frame, Picture 2 begins to enter the frame, from the right following Picture 1. I think the effect is known as Object Motion or Tweening?

Thanks Again.

We can add keyframe for sizing video layer.. nice..
Just composite playing and keyframe of course

I hope this will help...

I figured out a way to do it. I used gimp to scale all I want to stream across to the same size. Then created a new wide transparent image and copied an pasted each image. Then I added this image clip. I set the composite and resize the image. Started it on the out of frame on the right. Then ended it out of frame on the left. Seems to work fine.

Thanks for your help.
