Is it possible to resize the video clip? If yes, which effect should I use?

Generally, I made a film from many clips and now I want to resize the whole film and cut it on the top and on the bottom.... In other words, I need to somehow specify the cropping rectangle for the film. Should I use effect or may be it can be done on the render level?

Dmitry, you are flooding the forum with questions, that have been answered many times before. Please use the search function to make sure, your question has not been anwered before. It does not even help other new Kdenlive users, if some basic questions do get answered over and over again.

There is a crop effect in Kdenlive.

not sure if a project wide crop can be applied to all the clips in your kdenlive project timeline but i know if you already rendered it you could apply a crop using avidemux or similar. good luck

You can try loading the kdenlive project as a clip into a new project with the same settings and then using Crop or Pan and Zoom.

I used avidemux before and it worked fine. I'm now trying to make it from Kdenlive... don't want to recompile video twice.

I tried Crop effect but it doesn't work. I'm changing Left, Top parameters and video simply disappears from Project Monitor... It looks to be a defect or may be I'm doing something wrong.

The problem with crop is a known bug in v0.7.8. A workaround is to use pan and zoom.
