I reopened a project I was working on last night, and it seems that part of one of the video tracks has shifted a couple of frames. I can tell because the video is no longer aligned to the audio and the transitions between tracks.
I manually fixed this (a very tedious task as I'm working with a lot of separate clips), then saved the project. Upon reopening it just now, I noticed that it just did the same thing again! All the clips are out of alignment again. This is incredibly frustrating. I don't know what to do at this point, if I fix it manually again it'll just be messed up again when I reopen the project file later. I'm using version 0.7.8 of kdenlive. Anybody have any idea what could be going on? Maybe I'm doing it myself by accident? But that'd be quite strange seeing as it just did it twice in a row. EDIT: it seems to affect only the second half of the video. It's roughly 15 minutes long, and the problems start at around 8 minutes in. Maybe some of my clips are changing length when they are reloaded or something? I don't know. EDIT2: I'm now suspecting a certain clip to be the cause of this. The transition at the start of the clip is still in its place, but the one at the end has shifted, and all subsequent clips are out of alignment as well. Maybe this clip is damaged somehow? |

hi

It happens to me too. When I open my project, certain clips on the timeline have moved off their transitions, some just a tiny bit and others by leaps and bounds but always on the same track. Normally, when one moves a clip with a transition attached to it, the transition follows the clip. However, these movable clips move independently of their transitions.
I'm using Kdenlive SVN revision 5523. waynevid |

Same here... 0.7.8 too, sunab, and audio tracks with transitions on it, soundtrack offsetting as well when re-opening... very frustrating.
I hope 0.8 will fix it, by the way it was supposed to be released by the end of March and nothing came yet. I asked the question on the irc channel but didn't get any answer. |

Just out of curiosity, since some clips seem to be moving and some not, what types of clips are you using when you have the problem? Are they mpeg, avchd, dv, dnxhd, huffyuv, still images, ect. I'm curious if there is a dependency of this problem on formats that have inter-frame coding like mpeg or avchd. Most of my projects with kdenlive have been using still image clips (i.e., slideshows) and I haven't seen this problem yet.

I've experienced this too. I'm using 0.7.9 svn from sunab. It's always only one track that does it, but it's not always the same track. So far if I lock the tracks before I save and exit then I don't have the problem when I reopen. I'm using dv video files.

Hmmm, DV does not use inter-frame coding, so looks like that can't be part of the problem. At least it sounds like there is a temporary work-around - thanks for posting that.

I'm using DV too, I guess I'll use kmauser's workaround untill 0.8 is released.
