Hi there,
For some reason the kdenlive handbook is coming up as documentation not found and I'm having an issue with wipe transitions. Can someone explain to me the best way to use this transition? It seems to work fine for a while and then resets to a dissolve at various parts in the timeline and if I go through the wipes again and click on different options it seems to reset to the correct behaviour, but then can break another part of the timeline. I had to render out in sections to get it working ok and then reordered the files in nuke. I have it set up with a title clip composited over a still image and this is wiping to another still image with a title composited over the top. The clips are in video tracks 2->5, in the order: title, composite, image, wipe, title, composite, image. I'm not sure if this is the correct way of using the wipe transition. In the dialogue for the transition I am using a softness of 10 and a linear_x.pgm wipe. I'm confused about the with track dropdown, how does this work? If I have it set to auto is doesn't work sometimes and the options are Video 4(3), Video 5(4), Video 6(5), Video 7(6), Black. What does the number in parentheses mean? Sometimes if I change this option it makes the wipe work again if it decides to drop back into a weird dissolve, but it will usually break a clip further up the timeline. If I right click on the wipe transition there is also a toggle for "Automatic Transition", but this seems to be separate from the Auto option in the wipe dialogue, what does this do? I'm very confused and frustrated with this transition and any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure why it changes to a crossfade sometimes, maybe I am doing something incorrectly. I'm using: Kdenlive Version 0.8.2.1 Using KDE Development Platform 4.5.5 (KDE 4.5.5) on ubuntu 10.10 64bit thanks z |
