[Solved]Speed Effect = Kdenlive 0.8

Fri Aug 12, 2011 8:59 am
New to Kdenlive and wish to slow down a clip. Having tried to use the speed effect I cannot see how to make the clip longer (slower.) It will not let me adjust the parameters.

I have managed to make the clip faster, which of course is not what I want in this instance.

Help please

Thanks

just drop to number below 100% to slow the clip down, if you have managed to change the number over 100% to make it faster, then you should be able to change it down

The dialogue is not in %. It shows numeric values (time)for start point, end point and duration. The end point is zero and the duration cannot be increased.

very confused, the speed effect looks like the screenshot attached....

It sounds like you are describing the properties window that comes up when you double click on a clip in the timeline

Many thanks, the % was hidden behind another window! the dialogue I was referring to was reached via right click.

Thanks again, all is now sorted, although the video becomes jerky once the sped has been reduced.

good stuff.

Yeah, not much you can do about the slow mo, apart from to film in a higher frame rate to begin with, or act out the scene in slow motion! Interesting video on that over at Filmriot:
