Insert clip into another clip

Mon Aug 13, 2012 3:16 pm
Hello,

I guess it's a missleading title. Let me clarify it a bit.
With clip in another clip I mean a size reduced part of a clip to
be shown in another clip simultaneously.

E.g I have two clips, the main clip shows a house. The second one something totally different.
Now I want the second clip to be shown in a small rectangle on the first clip.
How can I "resize" one clip and let it overlap with the other?

I hope I chose the right words. Thanks in advance.

Drag your main clip onto a track, say second one, in the timeline. Then, drag you other clip on the track above your main clip. Add resize and pan effect to this second clip and position it where you want it to be. Add a composition, so that the main clip is visible surounding your resized and panned clip.

DiveO means "Add a composite transition" when he says "Add a composition". Do like he says and add a composite transition between the two tracks accross the whole length of the video.

Hey,

thanks for your answer.
The resize and pan effect cannot be resized itself.
The entire clip is in this yellow rectangle.

Edit: Nevermind, after changing the clip's length it can be resized. 0/

It's working perfectly. Thanks.
