Hi all,
There was a similar question before, but that did not answered my need. I have one clip which needs at some areas some gamma correction, leaving the rest of the clip and all others clips untouched. So, I want to apply only (different) effects at places I chose. I worked with Cinelerra where you could just select an area and apply effects, but have not found that in kdenlive. Am I overlooking something? Regards, Frans |

Hi Frans,
if the effect you want to use does not support keyframes, you will have to cut the clip in the timeline at the start and the end of the effect area. Simply move the timeline marker to the correct point and type SHIFT-R. Then you can apply the effect to the section between the cuts. In difference to Cinelerra kdenlive supports to cut in clips without cutting a frame, so nobody will see the SHIFT-R cuts. Cheers, Achim |

Yes, that was the solution. Strange that I have to cut the sections out - it goes against my feeling, after all: you normally cut things to remove it later - but it works.
Let's see what more surprises kdenlive has in store..... Regards, Frans. |

Hey, nice to get you sorted.
Well, if it feels too weird, you might interpret the "cutting" as intersectioning the timeline. |
