Only "dissolve" transition available

I am running Ubuntu 13.04, Kdenlive Platform Version 4.10.5
I seem to only have a "dissolve" transition between clips, even though I select, for example, "swipe".
Is this normal?

Have you seen the manual on transitions http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Transitions ? It might help.
