Ubuntu 12.10, Kdenlive 4.9.5

I created an simple animated title using "Add Title Clip" over a background that I have. The background was brought in as a seperate clip. I didn't set it in the "Add Title Clip" dialog. It plays fine in Kdenlive but when I render it (mpeg-4) the file is size 0 bytes.
Without animation the result is the same or the render crashes.
I've rendered lots of other videos to mpeg-4 without a problem.

Please help

Do clips with non-animated titles render?

BTW you don't have Kdenlive 4.9.5 . You probably have KDE Development Platform 4.9.5

Highest version of kdenlive would be 0.9.7 if you have some development version.
