For making titles I d need a good looking typewriter fonts, the commercial font is called american typewriter i guess..

is there something similar to this? How is it called? Thanks!

or is there a way to generally immport fonts like ttf fonts?

Install the font through KDE's font installer, either locally or for all on a system. Kdenlive then can access it. It's a basic system administration task.
