I heard about this plugin from the tutorial section of kdenlive, but the link to it is to the old forum and now it's gone. I am trying to shoot some test footage in front of a blue/green screen, but always when I try to key out the color, the edges around the person turn really, really jagged. Better lighting helps, but the edge is never even remotely smooth. So I really don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
And while I am at it, are there any more effects or plugins for kdenlive other than the ones that are installed by default? |

There was a time where you had to install this effect your self. But it comes with kdenlive since ver 0.9.3 http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual ... plillm0pup
Find it in the Misc group or in the Alpha manipulation group depending of version of kdenlive. Kdenlive uses melt filters http://www.mltframework.org/bin/view/MLT/PluginsFilters and there could well be ones available that are not in Kdenlive |

You are right, I am sorry for not noticing it. But until a few days ago I was using ver 0.9.2 of kdenlive and many effects were missing from there, including that one. However, whenever I add the key spill mop up on a clip that already has the bluescreen effect, kdenlive crashes. Every single time, with different clips and in different projects.

Yeah. I had that problem some time ago. I don't really use this effect but I was trying to play with it some time ago and I had the crash. But now I don't. I just tested it with the "Color Selection" and the "Blue Screen" effect and it did not crash. I am on Kdenlive 0.9.7+git20140202.645eed7a-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 Frie0r 1.4.0+git20131020.10d8360f-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 Melt 0.9.1+git20140207.4945fd34-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 ffmpeg 0.8.10-4:0.8.10-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 So perhas a bug fix in one of those has fixed it for me. |

Thanks, I will try to upgrade to those versions. What OS are you using?
